Ministry at McDonald's
12:00 PM to 1:00 PM
419 Chatham Heights Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22405

A few miles from our church is a McDonald's that has become a favorite gathering spot for breakfast and lunch for many of our retirees and other folks. For more than a year now, Pastor Teresa joins the group on Wednesday for lunch, fellowship, laughing and fun. Others besides our church members often join in. It's a fun shared time where many have learned to know us and about
New Hope a little better. Some of our church members are always at McDonald's for lunch on Wednesday!

Spiritual Growth through Art

“Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.” -Pablo Picasso

When it comes to art and spirituality our church respectfully disagrees with this statement by the world renowned artist Picasso.  It is not art that washes from our souls the dust and discouragement that weighs on us day after day, year after year.  Rather, we recognize that our hope for refreshment is found in Jesus alone who spoke, “I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” (John 10:10)

At New Hope UMC you will find a family of believers that welcomes creative expression.  We value and encourage artists of all capacities to joyfully share their visions. We know that our art neither saves us nor elevates us above others but does allow us to draw near and worship our Creator God with sincere love.  Our New Hope family at times creates opportunities for structured artistic sharing as with our Crafty Creators small group, our collaborative banners, and our Summer Tuesday art afternoons for children and teens during the summer.   New Hope United Methodist Church embraces the unusual, the beautiful, the thought-provoking, and the Spirit-led artistic acts that bring God glory and point us to His life-giving truth.
